George is a distinguished transaction lawyer regularly consulted by multinational companies and top government agencies. He was closely involved in acting for the first mobile telephone service in the country and advises major foreign airlines operating in Nigeria. He has extensive experience in commercial transactions, spanning Arbitration and other ADR methods, Aviation, Building and Construction, Banking and Finance, Energy and Natural Resources. He has represented clients on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including public and private offerings, privatisation and major project finance transactions.
Mr. Etomi also has a special interest in the Energy and Natural Resources field and is a member of Center for Petroleum Law Research [CPLR]. He has worked over the years with numerous multinational oil companies. In the power sector space, he supported power investors during the acquisition and concession of Successor Companies in the Nigerian power privatisation process and provided high-level legal advisory services to the Government and core investors alike throughout the several stages of the privatisation process. Mr. Etomi is a Director on the Board of one of the top performing Utilities in Nigeria where he serves as the Committee Chairman of The Board Legal, Corporate Governance and Regulatory Affairs Committee.
Mr. Etomi is the first past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Business Law and recently, the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies named a centre after him: “The George Etomi Centre for Strategic Investment and Corporate Governance”. Mr. Etomi has also been given a Professorial Chair at the Institute. In 2016 George Etomi was appointed a member of the Body of Benchers, the highest regulatory body of the legal profession in Nigeria.
Prof. Yinka Omorogbe SAN is an internationally recognized professor of energy law. She has an LL.B. from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, and an LL.M from the London School of Economics, University of London, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
She started her legal career as a legal practitioner in the law firm of Solomon Asemota& Co. In 1980 and later joined the Faculty of Law, University of Benin as a lecturer in 1983. In 1990 she moved to the University of Lagos as a Senior lecturer, where she remained until her appointment in July 2002 as a professor of law of the University of Ibadan. She was Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2005 until January 2009, when she was appointed as Secretary to the Corporation and Legal Adviser, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) a position she held until July 2011. She is currently a research professor (Nabo Graham Douglas Distinguished Professor of Law) at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Abuja, Nigeria. Prof Omorogbe has several publications, including books, monographs, book chapters and articles in leading international journals. She is also a regular speaker at workshops and conferences internationally and within Nigeria.
Professor Omorogbe was a member of the two Oil and Gas Sector Reform Implementation Committees (OGIC I and II) established from 2000- 2006, and again in 2007. Within OGIC II she was the Chair, Legal Regulatory Committee (2000-2006) which produced the first Petroleum Industry Bill. She has several international and national affiliations including being a member of the Academic Advisory Group (AAG) of the section on Energy Environment and Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) of the International Bar Association; Member, Legal Aspects of Sustainable Energy for All Community of Practice; Deputy President I, Nigerian Society of International Law; and Fellow, Nigerian Association of Energy Economics (FNAEE). She is a member of Council, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.
She was recently awarded the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Gbite Adeniji is an energy and natural resources practitioner with over 25 years of experience. He has advised the developers of headline projects such as the West African Gas Pipeline Project, the Amukpe Crude Oil Pipeline, the Ovade-Ogharefe Gas Processing Plant, the Egbaoma Gas Plant, the Qua Iboe Power Plant and the Yellowstone Power Project. He is currently advising developers of other gas pipeline, gas processing, fertilizer, methanol and power projects.
As senior consultant with the Oil, Gas, Mining and Chemicals Department of the World Bank, he was the sole legal expert in the multi-disciplinary team that advised the Government of Nigeria on the reform and restructuring of the petroleum sector. Key components included the development of a Natural Gas Strategy for Nigeria, a study directed to restructure and revive the internal market for LPG in Nigeria and the strategy for privatization of state-owned enterprises in the downstream segment of the Nigerian petroleum sector.
He was the legal consultant to the Government in respect of the development of the Nigerian Gas Masterplan, an initiative for the development of the domestic gas sector in Nigeria. In this regard, he moderated both Government and industry and prepared regulatory instruments such as the National Gas Policy document, the Downstream Gas Bill, the National Domestic Gas Supply and Pricing Regulations.
He has also assisted with the development of the commercial framework for wholesale gas supply to domestic gas utilization projects in Nigeria including the template Gas Sale Agreement, Escrow Agreement, template Gas Transmission Agreement for wholesale gas transactions in the Nigerian domestic gas sector and the contractual elements of the World Bank Partial Risk Guarantee programme for wholesale gas supply to the power sector.
He regularly teaches and speaks on issues relating to the development of projects and on the governance of his focal sectors.
Soji is head of the energy and natural resources practice group of AÉLEX, a full-service law firm with one of the largest energy practices in West Africa. He specialises in energy transactions and mainly advises clients on project finance, oil and gas, environmental, investment and securities, and company law.
In his 40 years of legal practice, he has garnered considerable experience in the development, supply, transmission and distribution of oil and gas, power, and energy sector restructuring and privatisation. He has also gained a sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and policy issues as well as commercial, fiscal and environmental matters arising in construction and project development. He continues to advise major, independent and marginal field operators on the legal, regulatory, commercial, fiscal and environmental aspects of acquisitions, divestiture and operations. Soji is respected by local and international investors, financial institutions, project owners, developers and contractors for his expertise in energy, project finance, infrastructure and business development.
He advises major, independent and marginal field operators on the legal, regulatory, commercial, fiscal and environmental aspects of upstream operations. He has either managed or directly participated in most of the major FDI transactions in the Nigerian electric power and petroleum sectors.
Soji is the founding president of the Nigerian Environmental Law Society. He is also the chairman of the energy and environment sub-committee of the Nigerian Bar Association’s section on business law. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and the International Bar Association (IBA). He is also a member of the IBA gas committee section on energy & natural resources law (SERL).
Soji is a frequent speaker at domestic and international fora on energy, natural resources and environmental issues.

Felicia Kemi Segun is a Partner in the Energy and Project Finance Group of the Firm. She is based in Lagos.
With over 24 years of legal practice experience, Kemi possesses deep expertise in energy and project finance matters and particularly in joint ventures and the acquisition and disposal of petroleum exploration and production companies interests as well as in the downstream sector. She is responsible for advising many international companies on foreign investment laws, corporate establishments and accreditation issues, the Nigerian licensing regime and generally on strategic alliances in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry.
Kemi advises on petroleum taxation, general business compliance and commercial matters ancillary to corporate activities and also advises oil company independents on structuring their entry into the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry either through direct acquisitions (licensing rounds or discretionary allocations), farm in or stock transfers, on relevant laws regulating entry and operations, and generally on transactional matters within the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry. Kemi also heads the power practice of the firm and advised on Nigeria’s first independent power project financing.
Dr Adeoye Adefulu is a partner and head of Odujinrin & Adefulu’s Energy Practice & Real Estate and Mining Teams. He is also an active member of the Corporate, Capital markets & Finance team. Adeoye holds a first degree in law from the University of Lagos and a masters & doctorate from the University of Dundee, where he studied at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy. He is Chairman of the Training Committee of the Section on Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association, member of Ikoyi Club and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

Her professional background started in 2005 when she went for her internship as a mass communications student with City people Magazine where she was retained as a freelance writer. This she did alongside her studies both at the polytechnic and later at the University.
